I love this so much! And, I'm embarrassed to admit, I knew nothing (nada!) about Beethoven's deafness nor his lifelong efforts to continue his vocation despite it all. Very inspiring, indeed! Thank you for this infusing of hope into my day. It's a very fine sermon!
Thank you so much, Kharma! And no need to be embarrassed! I wasn't sure how it was that I knew Beethoven's history from an early age. I mean, really, is that the sort of thing little kids generally know about? I don't think so!
But a couple of nights ago, I was on a family Zoom. Both of my older brothers, who had just read my blog post, remembered a record our family used to own -- a history of Beethoven. It was a 33-1/3 monaural recording in a brown casing, 10 inches in diameter instead of the usual 12 inches. They both vividly remembered listening to it. My brother who is just 2 years older remembered loving that LP so much that he listened to it "again and again." I don't remember the record (I was the youngest), but I am sure I was usually there when my brother listened to it "again and again." That must be how I learned about Beethoven's deafness. Anyway, I am so glad you enjoyed the post. Thank you!
AMEN!!!
Thanks, Corey!
